Robert Wilson Stage A Workshop at Gunpowder Park

LANS works with individuals and organisations in the public and private sectors, across the arts, industry, education and local government to deliver an innovative programme of arts and environment activities, ranging from research and development, new commissions, creative workshops, special events, exhibitions and publishing.

Through the unique resources of Gunpowder Park, its landscape, the Field Station and the support of the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, Landscape+Arts Network Services (LANS) provides new opportunities where arts led initiatives can make a positive and dramatic impact on the quality of life and the sustainable future of our environment.

Collaboration is key to LANS’ programming policy in the Park and across all of our projects. We continually extend our regional, national andinternational  partnerships across the public and private sectors with interests in the arts and
the environment.

LANS has gained a reputation as an important East of England regional resource. We are responsible for facilitating the Green Heart Partnership (GHP), an initiative between Arts Council England, East and the eleven local authorities of Hertfordshire that aims to achieve growth and capacity between the arts and environment sectors. The Green Heart Partnership looks to effect social change through policy development and facilitate creatively led capital development through informed joined-up decision making between artists and local authorities.

We have been working with Essex County Council in Jaywick. Situated on the east coast of Essex, Jaywick Martello Tower (JMT) is a former military fortification which has been transformed into a vital local cultural centre. Over the past 18 months, LANS developed a new vision and business plan for the Tower, and managied the further development and cultural programme for JMT, supporting creative collaborations which consider the local and regional themes of communitiy, heritage and environment.
